Ange Postecoglou finally accepts double swoop deal with Fulham to sign star defender

According to reports, the former Celtic manager and Spurs executives are debating whether to make a formal approach for the 25-year-old center defender.

Adarabioyo’s contract at Craven Cottage expires in a year, and Sky Sports reports that he is eager to advance in his career.

Fulham reportedly initiated talks with the English defender about a new contract, but the conversations did not advance.

It puts Fulham in a difficult position if Spurs make a transfer offer and the player wants to go.

Adarabioyo is free to discuss pre-contract moves abroad beginning in January. However, if Fulham want to sell the player, they will most likely have to do it during the summer transfer window.

Tottenham are said to have been watching Adarabioyo’s contract status and have conducted talks about formalizing their interest in the defender.

The stopper is regarded to be a potential signing not only because he fits the Postecoglou mould at centre-back, but also because he is a homegrown player.

The move comes as Davinson Sanchez prepares to depart Tottenham, with the club open to bids, while Clement Lenglet returns to home club Barcelona after a loan spell in North London.

According to Sky Sports, Spurs are still interested in Marc Guehi, although the defender is being followed by a number of clubs and has three years left on his contract with Crystal Palace.

In his first interview since joining Spurs, Postecoglou spoke about the importance of pre-season: “Yeah, it’s vital, particularly I think with a new manager coming in, myself coming in, and that gives me the time with the players and there will be new staff in as well, where we can all sort of begin to embed the kind of values and football we want to play.”

“We also get to spend a lot of time together, which I think is a good thing because we get to know each other as people as much as anything else.” So it’s critical for our upcoming season.”
