Aston Villa “really appreciate” a “fabulous” £43 million star at Villa Park amid rumors of a summer transfer.
According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Aston Villa “really appreciate” Villarreal center-back Pau Torres, who has been linked with a move to Villa Park this summer.
Unai Emery will want to bolster his Villans side before of next season’s Europa Conference League challenge.
According to BirminghamLive, Villa have high regard for Torres, who is open to reconnecting with former boss Unai Emery, with whom he won the Europa League in 2021.
According to the same magazine, the 26-year-old has a release clause of €50 million (about £43 million) to deter clubs from pursuing his services this summer.
However, with the defender currently in the final year of his £63,000-per-week deal at the Estadio de la Ceramica, the Villans may want to negotiate a lower cost in order to prevent losing him for free next summer.
And transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has hinted to CaughtOffside (via Football Espana) that the Yellow Submarine may be willing to cut their asking price by €10 million (£8.5 million) in order to get the most out of one of their most precious assets.
According to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor, Torres is a player “highly rated by Emery” as the Spaniard wants to strengthen the depth available to him in his team.
And, while Galetti has indicated that Villa may pursue Torres, the centre-back has also piqued the curiosity of Serie A champions Napoli.
