Two Nottingham Forest key players ask to leave club as more players set for Exit

Nottingham Forest are now willing to trade two of their 2022 recruits, Emmanuel Dennis and Remo Freuler. The summer transfer window is already open, and the Reds are eager to reshape their squad once more.

Forest are willing to let the two international players depart, according to The Times. Both will be made available in the hopes that teams will express interest in the duo.

The Reds added a whopping 23 players to their roster last summer. Some of them were loaned away, but it made life incredibly difficult for Steve Cooper during the campaign.

Seven more players were bought in January, bringing the total number of new signings to 30 since Forest’s promotion to the Premier League.

On the surface, Freuler and Dennis appeared to be very helpful signings. Freuler, an international midfielder, has made 260 appearances for Atalanta, which has qualified for Europe in the majority of seasons.

Dennis was a unique quality that was added. He had scored 10 goals for Watford in the 2021/22 Premier League season, but it was clear early on that he wasn’t a signing Cooper had chosen.

Forest intends to let Freuler and Dennis go this summer.

It’s all well and well to desire to get rid of players, but eventually, suitors will have to come forward and make an offer.

Forest paid £7.5 million for Freuler, while the Reds paid nearly £20 million with a series of add-ons for Watford.

Both players have had frustrating seasons, albeit for different reasons. Freuler has had to adjust to a style that he is not suited to, whereas Dennis hasn’t played much football.

It makes a lot of sense to let them both go. Freuler, 31, will not have been delighted to sit on the bench for the final six games of the season.

In terms of Dennis, Forest will be hoping to recuperate the majority of the £20 million they paid for the forward, given that he is still only 25 and has shown that he can score goals in the Premier League.
