According to journalist Dean Jones, Aston Villa are preparing to begin bidding for big transfer targets such as Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone.
Kone is currently in Romania and Georgia with the France squad at the UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
Manu Kone has joined Aston Villa on loan.
Kone has been linked with a number of clubs, with Liverpool allegedly keen on bringing the 22-year-old to Anfield as part of Jurgen Klopp’s midfield makeover.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “There’s been a lot of umming and ahing over targets like Manu Kone, and I feel like at some point Villa are just going to go in there and start making offers for these players to really give them something to think about and see if those other clubs react.”
Villa have a solid central midfield with Douglas Luiz, John McGinn, and Boubacar Kamara all having good seasons, with Youri Tielemans entering on a free transfer. Unai Emery appears to have four excellent choices ahead of next season’s Europa Conference League football and the scheduling issues that entails.
In that perspective, Kone would be a needless addition to the team unless a surprise sale occurred. Villa also have Leander Dendoncker, a defensive midfielder, and Jacob Ramsey, who can play in the middle, on their books. If Emery sees McGinn solely as a wide midfielder, as he has frequently played for the Spaniard, then this move makes sense.
However, Villa already have far too much depth, even without the acquisition of Kone, who would want first-team action at whichever club he joins this summer if he does leave Borussia Monchengladbach. At this point, he is more likely to join Liverpool or Wolves.
