Newcastle have’made contact’ with Sevilla about a prospective deal for Youssef En-Nesyri, according to The Mirror, as we attempt to boost our assault.
Last season, the Moroccan forward scored 18 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish club, which finished 12th in La Liga and won the Europa League.
The 26-year-old and his representatives are said to have told Sevilla that they want to listen to bids for him in the summer, implying that a transfer elsewhere could be on the cards after three and a half years with the club.
Despite possessing two great attackers in Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak, Howe may be looking to acquire a third offensive option with the Champions League approaching.
Although a wide striker, left-back, and right-sided centre-back appear to be our top priorities at the moment, do you think we could make a bid for En-Nesyri?
Personally, I don’t think we’ll pay the money he’d require on a third striker. He has a similar profile to Isak in that he is a big, mobile striker who can do it all, but I expect any forward arriving this summer to be a young one who can learn from our present alternatives.
