Gianluca Scamacca of West Ham United is said to have accepted an offer from Roma.
Gianluca Scamacca has accepted personal terms with Roma, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition June 21st, page 12), but West Ham are still unwilling to loan him away.
Scamacca’s playing style definitely does not fit the system employed by Hammers manager David Moyes, hence his departure from the London Stadium appears to be unavoidable this summer.
And Roma is certainly working hard to bring the striker back to Italy…
Gianluca Scamacca will depart West Ham after reaching an agreement with Roma on personal terms.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italy international has already accepted a bid from the Serie A club.
If he is to leave the London Stadium this summer, Roma may have to make a strong attempt to recruit him permanently.
This is due to West Ham’s refusal to let him depart on loan and preferring a permanent sale.
I just think the Hammers would be making a tremendous mistake if they gave up on Scamacca after only one season.
The former Sassuolo player is a superbly gifted footballer with true world-class skill. Moyes’ system, on the other hand, is completely unsuitable for him.
I’m confident the 24-year-old would thrive in a Hammers shirt if the Scot placed his wingers closer to the center-forward.
However, it is quite improbable that Moyes will change his footballing philosophy this far into his managerial career. So Gianluca Scamacca’s departure from West Ham this summer is very much a done deal in my opinion.
