A look at some of the greatest free agents now available to Aston Villa and Wolves as they look for new players.
Aston Villa and Wolves are both prepared to begin their own pre-seasons as the new season approaches.
Villa anticipates a successful season after qualifying for Europe the previous season.Unai Emery will be in charge for his first full season, and he has already received major backing in the transfer window, with the probable signing of Villarreal star Pau Torres for more than £50 million. Wolves, however, will enter their debut season under Julen Lopetegui after improving on a dismal performance at the tail end of last season.
As both clubs look to improve, we have rounded up some of the best Premier League free agents available to both clubs as July 1 signals contractual freedom for out of contract players up and down the country.
1. Reiss Nelson
Nelson appears to be more likely to sign a new contract with Arsenal, but both Villa and Wolves would be wise to speak with the winger now that he is free to do so.
2. Tom Davies
Davies would be a squad player for either of these clubs, but he may provide decent competition after leaving Everton on a free transfer.
3. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Oxlade-Chamberlain is being heavily linked with a move to Aston Villa, and a deal looks likely.
4. Willian
Willian has left Fulham, and he proved last season he is still of Premier League quality.
5. Manuel Lanzini
Lanzini has left West Ham, and he is the sort of creative midfielder who would fit in at both Villa and Wolves.
6. Yerry Mina
Mina is on his way out of Everton, and a move abroad is more plausible. He may provide depth for Villa or competition for Wolves at the back.
7. Lucas Moura
Moura is on the move after a long spell at Tottenham, and he should be an attractive option, able to add pace and danger from out wide.
8. Roberto Firmino
Firmino looks set to join the Saudi Arabian wave, but he is available for now, and it’s clear he is a player with huge quality
9. Wilfried Zaha
Zaha has been linked with West Ham, but he is now available and one of the most appealing free agent alternatives. He’d be a success at Aston Villa, but Wolves would have to work hard to get him.
