Tottenham Hotspur are “really close” to signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba, according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti.
Tottenham have been quite busy in the transfer market this summer as the club rebuilds under new boss Ange Postecoglou.
Tottenham have already signed Dejan Kulusevski on a permanent basis from Juventus, as well as Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison.
They have also reportedly accepted personal terms with Manor Solomon and, according to the latest reports, Wolfsburg center-back Micky van de Ven.
According to Telegraaf reporter Mike Verweij, the player has agreed to a contract extension with the Spurs until 2028.
Tottenham’s quest of defensive reinforcements does not stop there, as the club is still attempting to sign Edmond Tapsoba from Bayer Leverkusen.
Tottenham’s interest in the youngster has previously been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, who believes he would be a “perfect” addition for the club.
And Galetti now claims that Tottenham are on the verge of signing the German club’s center-back.
He stated to GiveMeSport:
“After finalizing deals for Maddison and Vicario, Tottenham is now working on Edmond Tapsoba.”
Tottenham are rumored to be on the verge of signing the Bayer Leverkusen center-back.”
Tottenham’s defensive line has been identified as an area for development, and if the reports are correct, the acquisitions of Micky van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba would greatly bolster their backline.
Several players, notably Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez, are expected to leave Tottenham as part of the team makeover.
The possible additions of Tapsoba and van de Ven would address the club’s defensive difficulties, offering solid reinforcements for the upcoming season.
