£47m attacker now willing to join Tottenham Hotspur as agent set for finally deal negotiation

In recent months, Tottenham Hotspur have been connected with Athletico PR’s Vitor Roque.

According to one source from April, Spurs were among the interested parties for the Brazilian forward.

In addition to Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal are reportedly interested.

More recently, it appeared that Spurs would lose Roque to Barcelona.

However, a recent report from Mundo Deportivo suggests that the race may once again become wide open.

Obviously, this may provide Tottenham with another opportunity to sign a player they had previously passed up.

According to the Spanish source, Athletico have given Barcelona a 24-hour deadline to make a move for Roque.

The Brazilian outfit appears to be waiting for them to hand over the necessary documentation to complete the deal.

‘Otherwise, they will begin to consider other options,’ the article added.

Tottenham, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in signing Roque.

Spurs, as well as the other aforementioned contenders, appear willing to travel to Brazil to finalize the signing.

They would all provide ‘greater assurances’ than Barcelona and triple Roque’s income, according to the article.

Barcelona and Athletico were said to have agreed on a deal for roughly €55 million (£47 million).

This is made up of a €30 million original payout, €20 million in add-ons, and a €5 million bonus for winning the Ballon d’Or.

Obviously, if the move goes through, they may have to start from scratch with a new club.

If Tottenham manages to sign Roque, they will have acquired an exceptional talent.

He has now made 66 competitive senior appearances for Athletico, scoring 22 goals and assisting on nine occasions.

Meanwhile, the ‘exceptional’ attacker has 11 games and six goals for Brazil’s Under-20s.

Breaking the Lines, a scouting website, recently compared Roque to Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez.

‘I believe you can tell where this is headed from the title of the piece (Vitor Roque: The New Aguero? ),’ they wrote.

Sergio Aguero is the player I most notice when I see Vitor Roque. The ability to finish in a variety of ways, the frame,

The only thing that could perhaps make him a little better is that Vitor is speedier and has a far higher work rate.

‘However, Aguero had a couple of knee problems both at Atletico and later at City that obviously hampered him.’

The fact that the Barca agreement reportedly includes a Ballon d’Or provision speaks something about Roque’s exceptional talent.
