All the latest Leeds United news and speculations as Daniel Farke goes to work.
Leeds United have already begun their preparations for their first season back in the Championship.
It’s already been a busy summer at Elland Road, with the Whites taking their time to recruit a new manager before signing Daniel Farke earlier this week. The former Norwich City manager knows what it takes to gain promotion from the second tier, having done so twice, and he will not want to waste any time this summer.
Meanwhile, we’ve compiled a list of all the most recent Elland Road headlines.
Phillips interest
Farke is thought to be interested in Liverpool midfielder Nat Phillips ahead of the new season.
While plenty of departures are expected, Leeds will also need to make additions this summer, and according to The Athletic, Farke wants to recruit Reds striker Phillips in a deal worth up to £10 million. Phillips spent last year on loan at Bournemouth, but it was his time with Stuttgart in 2019 that apparently piqued Farke’s interest.
The question is whether Leeds would spend that much on a single player this summer, but given some of the expected sales, they should have the funds.
Priorities in the midfield
Leeds, according to The Athletic, want to prioritize strengthening their midfield ahead of the new season.
Gustavo Hamer of Coventry City is thought to be an option, though the Sky Blues are expected to demand a high sum considering that the midfielder scored and assisted on more than ten goals last season. Leeds, on the other hand, can save money by signing free agent Han-Noah Massengo, a 21-year-old midfielder.
The French teenager played 100 league games for Bristol City over four years until his contract expired. As a youngster, he also made three league outings for AS Monaco.
