Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Ko Itakura from Borussia Monchengladbach during the summer transfer window, according to Sky Germany.
According to the report, Napoli are also interested in the 26-year-old Japan international center defender.
Itakura is expected to quit the German club this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur, in our opinion, might recruit Ko Itakura from Borussia Monchengladbach during the summer transfer window.
Monchengladbach’s greatest players are often sold, and a fair offer from Spurs may be too tempting to resist down for the German club.
Furthermore, Itakura may be enticed to join Tottenham Hotspur, one of the largest teams in the world that consistently aims to finish in the top four of the Premier League table.
The Japan international was on Manchester City’s books from 2019 to 2022 before being moved to Monchengladbach in the summer of 2022 for €5 million (£4.5 million), as reported by The Manchester Evening News at the time.
During his tenure at City, the 26-year-old spent time on loan at FC Groningen and Schalke.
Former Brighton and Hove Albion and NAC Breda defender commented that Itakura “is incredibly fast” and “can head well” when at FC Groningen (Fcgfans.nl, March 9, 2018).
