Tottenham star winger set for exit as board already identify Premier League star as perfect replacement

Tottenham are apparently keeping a careful eye on Marc Cucurella’s position, since Ivan Perisic appears to be on his way out of the club.

Ange Postecoglou, the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, is already putting his stamp on things in north London. While he has activated Dejan Kulusevski’s permanent snare and is interested in signing Clement Lenglet, both of whom were at the club last season, he is also making his own moves.

The first was James Maddison’s statement snare – a major move not only because he’s a wonderful player, but also because the attacking-midfielder could have picked Newcastle United, but cited Postecoglou as a reason he chose Tottenham.

Another significant move made by the new manager was the acquisition of goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. Hugo Lloris, the long-time number one, will face competition from the 26-year-old.

The Frenchman struggled at times last season, and bringing in a player to challenge him demonstrates Posctecoglou’s willingness to improve his team.

Given that Tottenham finished seventh last season, those gains are expected to continue.

Several high-profile players are still being linked with a move to the club this summer.

One of them is Jadon Sancho, who, despite not pulling up any trees in his Premier League term thus far, might be a helpful asset in the English top division in the correct system.

Postecoglou’s pursuit of Cucurella is yet another example of his molding the squad to his liking. While there are certainly traces of former managers, some of them are fading.

Perisic, who was just signed by former boss Antonio Conte last season, appears to want to quit the club after making 44 appearances.

He appears to be so serious about leaving the north London outfit that he is willing to renounce his contract rather than stay another year.

According to a separate report, he is likely to be sold. In any case, the prevailing consensus is that he wants out and will most likely get it.

As such, Cucurella would be a straight substitute for him, which is one of the reasons for his interest.
