Boston Celtics fans in shock as Legend hit back at controversial Dwyane Wade hot take

In a flurry of tweets Monday morning, former Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce addressed his feelings toward Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade.

Pierce, who won a championship with the Celtics in 2008, asserted that if he had been in Wade’s position, he would have won more. Wade won a championship with Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal in 2006, and with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013.

“Put Shaq on my team, LeBron, and Bosh with me, and I’m not going to win one?” “You don’t think?” Pierce asked on “It Is What It Is.”

“…I don’t want this to be a knock on Wade.” But I’m simply saying that I believe my abilities went unnoticed since I didn’t get to play alongside a lot of excellent players. Then I got to play with [Kevin Garnett] and Ray (Allen) after they were past their peak. If you put myself, Ray, and KG together four years ago, do you think we wouldn’t walk away with three ‘chips?”

This is not the first time Paul Pierce has mentioned Wade. He said on ESPN that he is better than Wade, prompting former NBA star Jalen Rose and commentator Michelle Beadle to debate his claim.

Pierce is a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame. He was a 10-time All-Star and four-time NBA All-Star. Wade has been a 13-time All-Star, an eight-time All-NBA pick (two of which were first-team selections), and a three-time all-defensive selection.

If Pierce had the same talent as Wade, he could have won more titles. However, his resume does not compare to “the Flash,” who may be the third-best shooting guard of all time, after Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
