According to rumours, OGC Nice is in talks with Leicester City about signing Ricardo Pereira.
Foot Mercato, a French site, is among those reporting on the talks, suggesting that they have been more intensive in recent days.
Despite having a contract with Leicester City until 2026, Pereira is said to be ‘obviously pushed towards the departure’ at the club.
Nice’s plan appears to be to sign the fullback on loan, and the player is claimed to be ‘eager’ to return to the club where he played from 2015 to 2017.
Foot Mercato describes Pereira as a’safe bet’ for the French club, despite the fact that no details of the agreement with Leicester City have been revealed.
Meanwhile, the Portuguese press supports the negotiations.
According to Mais Futebol, Nice has already issued a loan offer to Leicester City, and there is a ‘clear likelihood’ that an agreement will be reached.
For the time being, there is no information about the French club having a prospective purchase option in this arrangement, so Ricardo Pereira might be back with the Foxes next year, possibly in a return to the Premier League.
