In recent weeks, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been linked with a move away from the club.
The 30-year-old is in the final year of his deal with the Premier League club and is expected to leave this summer.
Given his contract predicament, the Spurs will be under pressure to trade him as well. They will not want to lose a world-class player like him next year on a free transfer.
Bayern Munich is apparently aiming to sign the England international this summer, but no agreement has been reached.
Spurs will obviously not want to lose one of their all-time greats on the cheap, and they will almost certainly demand a premium from the German club regardless of his contract situation.
It will be intriguing to see if the two clubs can quickly strike an agreement.
According to the Evening Standard, Harry Kane has not ruled out signing a new deal at Tottenham and may stay if a decision is not reached soon.
Kane reportedly does not want to leave Tottenham if he begins the season with them. The striker believes that leaving the club after the season has begun would be unjust.
Tottenham’s first Premier League game is against Brentford on August 13, therefore the striker wants his future settled before then. As a result, if Bayern Munich wants to sign him, they must reach an agreement by August 12th.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can keep him until then and persuade him to sign a new contract in the coming weeks. Tottenham would benefit much from keeping the 30-year-old, who scored 32 goals in all competitions last season.
