Leeds United in advanced talk to sign Premier League machine as Max Wober replacement

Leeds United are in ‘advanced talks’ to recruit Liverpool defender Nat Phillips, according to transfer specialist Rudy Galetti, with a sum of £10 million including add-ons on the table for the centre-back, who will replace Max Wober.

Phillips, 26, is poised to depart this summer after appearing in just five games for Liverpool previous season. Daniel Farke once wanted to sign him at Norwich after watching his progress on loan at Stuttgart.

According to Phil Hay, who broke the news that Phillips is a White target. With Leeds already deficient in that position – and captain Liam Cooper suffering a new injury – a centre-back is set to be the next signing.

Although Phillips is likely to wish to leave Anfield after a lack of playing time last season, Liverpool are under no obligation to sell, as he has a contract until 2025. Certainly, they will expect us to meet their asking price.

Leeds and Liverpool appear to be nearing an agreement. According to Galetti, the teams are in advanced talks ahead of a trade that will cost The 49ers £10 million, including add-ons for Phillips.
