Tottenham are likely to see a lot of activity in one area before the transfer deadline.
Tottenham’s transfer business is expected to be tense as Ange Postecoglou seeks to bolster his squad. The Spurs boss, who has already formed a good relationship with chief scout Leonardo Gabbanini, is said to have handed Chairman Daniel Levy three choices.
Tottenham’s last week of the summer transfer window could be dominated by incomings and outgoings in central defense. Micky van de Ven has already signed from Wolfsburg, and Joe Rodon has left on loan, but there are several additional moves in the works.
Not least because Postecoglou is keen to shift several centre-backs from his wage bill. Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier and Japhet Tanganga are all believed to be expendable if the right opportunity presents itself.
Departures would free up space for Levy to negotiate another arrival, having already been handed a list of three defensive targets by Postecoglou and Gabbanini.
According to football.london, the duo believe that Perr Schuurs, Gleison Bremer and Tosin Adarabioyo are all worthy candidates to bolster the back-line. Postecoglou and Gabbanini reportedly arrived at the three names in question after embracing data-based scouting.
Schuurs boasts varied experience and plenty of game time, having come through in the Eredivisie and spent last season with Torino in Serie A. The 23-year-old is also believed to have admirers at Arsenal and Liverpool.
