Alexander Isak, Sven Botman & Joe Willock: Newcastle United injury list & expected return dates.
Newcastle United return to Premier League action this afternoon with Crystal Palace the visitors to St James’ Park.
Following the two-week international break, the Magpies will look to pick up where they left off by extending their unbeaten run to eight matches. United currently sit eighth in the league table on 13 points.
As a result of the busy schedule, the injuries have started to the mount and here NewcastleWorld takes a look at when each player is expected to return:
Alexander Isak – groin

Joelinton – hamstring

Joelinton lasted less than four minutes after coming on as a substitute against Burnley last weekend after picking up a hamstring injury.
He’s trained during the international break and Howe is “confident” the Brazilian will be involved versus Palace.
Expected return: Crystal Palace 21/10 (H
Sven Botman – knee

Sven Botman has missed the last four matches with a knee injury and Howe gave nothing away when asked about the player on Friday.
Expected return: Borussia Dortmund (H) – 25/10
Joe Willock – Achilles

Joe Willock hasn’t featured for Newcastle since May when he picked up a hamstring injury in the penultimate home game against Brighton.
He was expected to return in pre-season but suffered a setback. Then, last month, during his recovery, the midfielder sustained a new Achilles injury.
The former Arsenal man has returned to training this week but the next two matches are set to come too soon.
Expected return: Wolverhampton Wanderers (A) – 28/10
Harvey Barnes – foot/ toe

Harvey Barnes won’t return to action until the beginning of 2024 after picking up a foot injury during the 8-0 win at Sheffield United.
The injury doesn’t require surgery but it won’t be until late December when the £38million summer signing returns to training.
Expected return: January 202
Lewis Miley – glandular fever
Howe revealed on Friday that Lewis Miley has been suffering from glandular fever and is set to be sidelined for at least another two weeks.
Expected return: Borussia Dortmund (A) – 07/11
