How Jaylen Brown Reacted To Recent Appearances By Celtics Legends

Jaylen Brown is excited for the Celtics season to get underway after “one of the best preseasons” he has been a part of during his time in Boston.

Aside from a 4-1 record in preseason action and the additions of Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday, Brown pointed out that the presence of Celtics legends at practice has been a huge factor in the excitement level surrounding the team.

“It’s so cool having these guys come and be a part of practice, to be a part of the organization,” Brown said, according to MassLive. “Growing up, watching the Celtics, seeing like (Kevin Garnett), (Rajon) Rondo and (Paul) Pierce and stuff like that. Now being able to have them in our practice, in our film room and them telling you like, ‘No, this is how you got to do it.’ This is what they see. I think that’s a tremendous honor.”

Brown added: “I know those guys should be doing a lot more things or something else. But they choose to be here with this group. And it says a lot about us and it says a lot about them. I’m extremely grateful for that and I think that’s super cool.”

Rondo and Pierce weren’t the only Celtics greats to stop by practice — Sam Vincent, Satch Sanders and Eddie House are just a few that have been about the club lately.

For Rondo, stopping by practice is a win-win for the retired NBA champion since he sees coaching as a path he wants to follow.

“Coaching is in the future,” Rondo told MassLive. “I wanted to come in here this week and learn from Joe. Pick up as much knowledge I can from him and the rest of the staff. Just kind of learn.”
