Cleveland Browns Lose Offensive Weapon For 1-2 Weeks

The Cleveland Browns got some terrible news this week regarding an injury to one of their offensive weapons. Running back Jerome Ford will miss one to two weeks due to a low-grade high ankle injury. Ford injured his ankle in Cleveland’s previous matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, which they won 39-38. This news comes from NFL insider and analyst Adam Schefter via Twitter.

Ford finished the game against the Colts with 10 carries for 31 yards before going down with the injury. The absence of Ford will mean that running back Kareem Hunt will be getting the start in next week’s matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Hunt has played for the Browns before since 2019 and was the Kansas City Chiefs running back from 2017-2018. He has amounted to 4,128 total yards and 34 touchdowns in his career.

Running back Pierre Strong Jr. will likely trade reps with Hunt during the game this coming week. Strong is going into his second year in the league and his first year with the Browns. He played for the New England Patriots in 2022 and amounted to just 100 yards rushing and a touchdown. This season with Cleveland, he has gone for 102 yards and one touchdown.

The running back injuries for Cleveland continue to hurt their offense since their star runner Nick Chubb went down with a season-ending injury earlier in the year. Luckily, Ford’s injury is not too serious, and he should return to action in a couple of weeks at most. His recovery will likely be updated throughout the week.
