Harry Winks explains why he is not worried by Leicester City’s back-to-back defeats

City went down 1-0 at Middlesbrough on Saturday and combined with their loss to Leeds, the Championship’s chasing pack have made up a fair bit of ground over recent weeks

Leicester City would only need to worry about their back-to-back defeats if their performances had been as disappointing as the results, midfielder Harry Winks has said.

City lost 1-0 at Middlesbrough on Saturday as they failed to bounce back from the 1-0 home reverse to Leeds. The chasing pack took advantage of City’s dropped points and Enzo Maresca’s side now only lead the table on goal difference, while their cushion inside the automatic promotion places stands at eight points, down from 14 a week-and-a-half ago.

But there is nothing to be concerned by, Winks believes, because both results were harsh in his eyes. He feels City created the chances to deserve all three points at the Riverside Stadium, and, because of that, the squad won’t lose heart nor confidence in their gameplan.

It’s really frustrating,” Winks told Foxes Hub. “We dominated the game and we were in control. They gave it a good go, but if you look at the last two games, we’ve conceded from a corner and a free-kick and it’s cost us the games.
