News: Eric Metcalf and others blast Browns after lost to Broncos

Cleveland Browns vs. Denver Broncos, November 26, 2023

Denver Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton knocks the ball away from Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku in the end zone for an incomplete pass in the second half at Empower Field at Mile High.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns suffered through a mistake-filled, painful afternoon in Denver as they were blown out by the Broncos on Sunday, 29-12.

In the game, the Browns lost rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson to a concussion, Jordan Elliott to an ankle injury and Amari Cooper to a rib injury. Prior to being injured, Thompson-Robinson completed 14 of 29 passes for 134 yards and his first NFL touchdown.

The Browns defense had a hard time stopping the Broncos on the ground as Denver rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns. QB Russell Wilson added a TD pass.

On the other side of the ball, the Broncos and their red-hot defense took the ball away from the Browns three times, all on fumbles.

The Browns fell to 7-4 on the season and will stay out West another week before traveling to Los Angeles to take on the Rams.

Here is some of what social media said after the loss.

So Flacco next week, eh? 4th QB in 12 games for a 7-4 football team. The oddest, in a collection of incredibly odd, Cleveland Browns football seasons,” Cody Suek of the Orange and Brown Report posted.

“they lost Nick Chubb in game two. they’re playing with a different quarterback every single week, and one of them (PJ Walker) is not even NFL caliber. if Joe Flacco starts next week, it will be their fourth different starter in 12 games. it’s a miracle they’re 7-4 and not 0-12,” Jordan Zirm of the Sporting News posted.

“The Browns ran it 16 times against one of the worst rushing defenses in the league. That’s indefensible game planning. Flush today. The coach had a bad day. Just bad. You’re 7-4 and we all would have signed up for that at the start of the season. On to LA,” Fox college basketball announcer John Fanta posted.
