BREAKING NEWS: Detroit Lions coach delivers heartbreaking news to fans.

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell announced this summer that rookie quarterback Hendon Hooker would be a “red shirt” player while recovering from a ruptured ACL, but it now appears the Lions may get a look at him before the season ends.

In an interview with reporters on November 27, Campbell addressed Hooker’s previously uncertain future, stating that he would most certainly be activated at some time this season. Hooker’s final season at Tennessee was cut short by an ACL tear, and Campbell had previously expressed reservations about him playing at all during his freshman year.

With starter quarterback Jared Goff failing, the Lions may want to add another signal caller to the mix.
