Deal ongoing as Aston Villa in negotiation with Manchester City to sign £73m star

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Aston Villa have “many names on their list” in their pursuit of a winger at Villa Park this summer and have inquired about a Moussa Diaby replacement.

Unai Emery seeks to bolster his Villans squad as he prepares to play in both the Premier League and the Conference League this summer.

Jadon Sancho has joined Aston Villa on loan.

According to FootballTransfers, Aston Villa are interested in signing Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, who might be available for a reasonable fee during the summer transfer window.

According to the same source, United may be tempted to sell the wide man for £60 million in order to repay the enormous transfer fee they paid for the 23-year-old.

The 23-cap England international has struggled to make an impression since joining Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund for £73 million in the summer of 2021, and he could depart the Manchester giants this summer.

Sancho has 12 goals and six assists in 79 games for the Red Devils, demonstrating that his return to English football has been underwhelming.

Transfer insider Dean Jones recently told GIVEMESPORT that Villa could acquire Manchester United combo Jadon Sancho and Harry Maguire this summer ‘if they really wanted to’.

However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano stated this week that the Villans have bid €35 million (£30 million) plus add-ons to Bayer Leverkusen for Diaby’s services.

The Bundesliga club turned down the offer, but they are aware that the winger wants to transfer to Villa Park, hinting that a deal is in the works.

And Galetti reports that Villa had previously inquired for Sancho’s services, but his fee was too costly.

What did Galetti have to say about Aston Villa and Sancho?

Galetti told GIVEMESPORT about the newest Aston Villa news: “After Tielemans and Pau Torres, the midfield and defense are okay.”

“Aston Villa are currently working to strengthen the left and right wings.”

“Many names on their list have already been explored, such as Moussa Diaby of Bayern Leverkusen.”

“The Villans have asked for information on Sancho in recent weeks, but Manchester United’s asking price is considered too high.”

Who else might Aston Villa bring in this summer?

With Emery guiding the Villans to European football this season, the West Midlands giants will be an appealing proposition for some of Europe’s most intriguing players.

Jones recently told GIVEMESPORT that Villa’s possible transfer of Juventus and former Leeds United loanee Weston McKennie might be a “masterstroke” after his reputation suffered during his disastrous spell at Elland Road.

The arrival of Leeds’ Wilfried Gnonto, according to the same journalist, would be “really exciting” as the Villans aim to bolster their options ahead of a potentially lengthy Conference League season.

However, Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor has told GIVEMESPORT that Athletic Bilbao wide winger Nico Williams is not sure about a move to Villa Park and may sign a new contract with the Basque club.
