Done deal as Fabrizio Romano says French striker finally agreed to join Aston Villa this summer

Aston Villa have agreed to sign Moussa Diaby.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that the French attacker has agreed to join the Midlands club.

This is fantastic news for Unai Emery’s team, but it’s also a huge blow for their Premier League rivals.

Indeed, Diaby is a player who Arsenal has long liked. The Gunners were reportedly interested in signing the’very exciting’ Bayer Leverkusen star this summer, but it now appears that they have fallen behind Villa in this competition.

We can’t help but think Unai Emery will be delighted to get one over on his previous team on this occasion.

Make no mistake: this would be a tremendous win for Villa.

Diaby has been one of the Bundesliga’s standout performers in recent years, and he appeared to reach new heights last season under Xabi Alonso.

Diaby is not just a star in Germany, but he also appears to be a player ready to compete in the Premier League.

Indeed, although players like Jadon Sancho and Kai Havertz have failed to make the transfer from the Bundesliga to English football, Diaby appears to be in a better position.

Diaby’s skill set and physical profile make him an ideal Premier League candidate. He’s one of Europe’s fastest players, and he’s tremendously direct; in a league that values speed so much, he has the potential to be a star.

Of course, there is still work to be done before we can call this a done deal, as club-to-club conversations continue, but this appears to be on the cards for Villa and might be one of the summer additions.

Villa supporters should be quite happy about this one.
