Brentford’s Ivan Toney agrees personal terms over potential £50 million move this summer

HITC understands that Brentford’s Ivan Toney has agreed personal terms ahead of a potential move to a new club this summer.

Throughout the summer, Brentford’s Ivan Toney has been linked with a move away from Thomas Frank’s side but no team has come forward to sign the English forward from the Bees this summer.

Atletico Madrid were interested in Toney, alongside Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur but neither side came forward to make a suitable offer for the former Newcastle United striker.

We reported over the week that Premier League clubs were waiting for Toney’s price to drop after the forward was left out of Brentford’s squad for the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace. It is obvious Ivan Toney will be sold this summer – Thomas Frank - Yahoo Sport

Saudi Pro League side agree Toney personal terms

HITC understands that Toney has agreed personal terms with Saudi Pro-League outfit Al-Ahli ahead of him completing a move to the Middle East.

The England striker is still discussing moving to the Middle East with his family, but the financial package on offer has been agreed in principle.

A fee between the two clubs has yet to be agreed this summer with Brentford understood to be demanding around £50 million for the English forward.

Talks have been ongoing with Al-Ahli’s opening offer of £35m rejected, but talks have continued and sources believe a deal is now close to being completed.

Speaking prior to Sunday’s victory over Crystal Palace, Brentford manager Thomas Frank said “Things are happening for Ivan Toney so we decided not to involve him in the squad.

“There’s interest, nothing closed yet but things are happening”.

Toney not attracting Premier League interest

The English striker missed the majority of last season due to the forward’s ban over an alleged breach of betting rules.

In the season previous, however, Toney netted 20 times for Brentford and provided four assists in 33 Premier League games for the Bees.

Despite that outstanding return, and the obvious qualities that he possesses, no side in England has come forward with an offer.

HITC can confirm that no Premier League club have made any offers to Brentford for Toney this summer.
