Bryan Mbeumo has already issued honest transfer verdict amid fresh Arsenal links

Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo has been linked with a move away despite staying put through the duration of the summer transfer window. The Bees know they will be keeping their star man for another few months, and potentially best part of a year with a summer exit more likely than a winter one.

Over recent days, HITC have claimed that a number of the Premier League’s top clubs are eyeing a potential deal for Mbeumo, with Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Newcastle United all linked. In Arsenal’s case, it’s no secret that they need another forward in the near future, but Raheem, Sterling will get the chance to win the job permanently during his loan spell.

Mbeumo could be a potential solution, with the Cameroon international reportedly reluctant to sign a new contract, although his current deal runs until 2026 with Brentford reportedly having an option to extend by one year within the last 12 months.

But what has Mbuemo said about his future? Amid some early links in the summer, the 25-year-olf frontman told L’Equipe that he has his sights set on a big move in the future. He said: “I have spent five seasons at Brentford, at a club that has helped me grow and turn a corner. But yes, I want to play in the biggest competitions, at the best clubs. It’s still exciting to see some of the big teams interested in me. We’ll see.”

Mbeumo is valued at £33.7million by Transfermarkt, but it has been claimed that Brentford slapped a £50million asking price on their star forward early in the summer, which feels like a more accurate price. The 25-year-old forward has scored 48 goals in 187 league appearances since arriving at Brentford from Troyes in 2019 for a bargain fee of around £5million.
