GOOD NEWS: Philadelphia he is back

In Philadelphia, Trump encountered jeers and chants while making shoe sales.Following a protracted fraud trial, which resulted in a $355 million fine from a New York judge—a decision he intends to appeal—the former president Donald Trump spent his Saturday visiting two battleground states: Pennsylvania and Michigan.Philadelphia’s Sneaker Con is the first stop.

“You guys are sneakerheads, right? Is there a sneakerhead among the people in the room? In a brief speech, Trump addressed an odd audience that alternated between cheering for and jeering at him.

The event was scheduled to coincide with the launch of the newest Trump merchandise, which included $199 “Victory47” fragrances and $399 gold “Never Surrender” high-top sneakers. (Additionally offered: $199 “POTUS 45” and “Red Wave” sneakers.)

Taking the stage in a pair of the high-top sneakers was Trump himself.

Yet in this heavily Democratic city, his five minutes of speech were occasionally hard to hear over the cacophonous yelling and chanting of the young, diverse audience.

Some tried to muffle the jeers and chants directed at him by shouting “USA” and “Joe Biden.”

With difficulty speaking, Trump remarked, “This is a slightly different audience than I’m used to, but I love this audience.”

In an effort to deflect criticism, he acknowledged the supporters in the audience and even called one of them—a woman—up to the platform, where she declared her love for Trump on the grounds that he is a devout Christian family man.

They have no justification for pursuing him. To jeers and applause, she declared, “Go out and vote for Trump.”

Trump went so far as to admit that he wasn’t in exactly friendly territory: “I’m heading to Michigan right after this. I will be discussing a somewhat unrelated topic to sneakers. However, what’s the deal? All of it is a part of America,” he remarked.

That did not deter him from making his Philadelphia pitch.

“Going out to vote is the most important thing, right? We must cast our votes outside. We need to encourage youth to cast ballots,” he declared.

Later, in Michigan, a furious Trump unleashed his fury, accusing every prosecutor looking into him. He is accused of 91 crimes, all of which he disputes.

He assured the fervent supporters that he would win the entire election if he prevailed in the swing state, which is expected to be a crucial battleground.

But he also provided the incorrect year for his victory in Michigan and miscalculated the date of the upcoming Republican primary—blunders that opponents like primary rival Nikki Haley have exploited to claim that he is “diminished.”

While criticizing President Joe Biden for similar errors, Trump maintained his own mental clarity. In January, he declared, “I feel my mind is stronger now than it was 25 years ago.”

Following the outcome of a protracted civil fraud lawsuit in New York, which may have been his largest legal setback to date, the former president made a comeback to the campaign trail this past weekend.

Judge Arthur Engoron delivered Trump a financial and legal blow late on Friday that could irreversibly harm the business empire that helped him win the presidency. The 92-page order was issued.

Apart from the substantial fine, Engoron also temporarily deprived Trump and his sons of the capacity to manage their own companies or seek funding.

The legal team representing Trump intends to file an appeal, promising that higher courts will overturn Engoron’s decision.
