Eddie Howe advised Newcastle to sign £150,000-a-week speed horse as negotiations ongoing

According to journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft, Borussia Dortmund is now negotiating a new contract with Newcastle United transfer target Youssoufa Moukoko.

The reporter claimed in a transfer update on his YouTube channel that BVB is trying all possible to keep the 18-year-old star.

While the Black and Yellow are the favorites, Newcastle is still in the running for the player’s signing.

“His contract expires this summer, therefore many are speculating about large teams in England, such as Newcastle and Chelsea, as well as Spain,” Fjortoft remarked.

“But, most likely at the moment, he will extend his contract in Dortmund.

“They are negotiating as we speak in Marbella.

“They’re doing everything they can to extend Moukoko’s contract in Dortmund since he’s still 18 years old and they believe the best argument for him is to develop in Dortmund.”

This news does not bode well for Newcastle.

The Magpies have made a “major verbal approach” to the attacker, according to the Evening Standard. The potential relocation is thought to feature a massive £150,000-per-week salary.

If Dortmund makes a reasonable offer to Moukoko, the Toon are likely to be on the defensive in negotiations.

The teenager, hailed by teammate Emre Can as a “crazy” talent, would be a big coup for Eddie Howe’s side.

But, with Dortmund desperate to keep their 18-year-old prodigy, the assignment was always going to be difficult.

Hopefully, Dan Ashworth has another negotiation chip under his sleeve, allowing the team to complete a deal for Moukoko.
