Arkansas football officially announces Colby Smith as new running backs coach

FAYETTEVILLE — Colby Smith was officially announced Tuesday as the University of Arkansas’ new running backs coach.

Smith, 39, signed a contract with the Razorbacks worth $325,000 in the first year. According to the terms of the contract, which were finalized Monday and made public as part of the free agent explanatory document, Smith’s contract will be worth $35 per year if Sam Pittman remains the head football coach at Arkansas in March 2025. He could be extended for another season for $1,000,000. A call to action.

Smith was attending Arkansas State football practice on Tuesday. Smith reportedly accepted the job for the first time last Saturday, a day after former running backs coach Jimmy Smith resigned to take a similar position at TCU.

Jimmy Smith had one season left on his contract with Arkansas, which included an assistant coaching position at a salary of $360,000 per year. WholeHogSports Details: Arkansas State Football Assistant Salary Database
