After Harry Kane was substituted by Bayern Munich a few days prior to England duty, Thomas Tuchel updates Harry Kane’s injury.

Days before leaving for England, Thomas Tuchel replaced the striker for Bayern Munich, so he provides an update on Harry Kane’s injury.

The captain of the Three Lions is having the best season of his career, and he made history again on Saturday.

With his 31st goal of the league season, Kane broke the record for the most goals scored in a debut Bundesliga campaign as Bayern Munich defeated Darmstadt 5-2.

The 30-year-old also surpassed his previous league-best goal total of 30, which he had set earlier.

Naturally, Kane was named in England’s squad by manager Gareth Southgate for the forthcoming friendlies at Wembley Stadium against Brazil and Belgium.

But after crashing into the goalpost in the second half of Bayern’s victory on Saturday, the striker had to be replaced.

After the incident, with Bayern leading 4-1, Kane was assisted off the field and replaced right away.

Kane’s ankle problem was confirmed by Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel following the game.

“His ankle was iced after he twisted it slightly from colliding with the post,” Tuchel said.

“We still need to wait for a diagnosis. I hope it’s not too serious.”

Injury could put an end to Kane’s hopes of surpassing former Bayern attacker Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 Bundesliga goals in the 2020–21 campaign.

At this point in the season, Kane has scored an incredible 36 goals in 34 games across all competitions.

With eight Bundesliga games left, Bayern Munich is currently seven points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

Kane will aim to be fit for Bayern’s quarterfinal first leg away to old rivals Arsenal on April 9, as the Champions League is their only realistic chance to win trophies this season.
