Fabrizio Romano: Leicester City ignores several big names to welcome Ralph Hasenhuttl to King Power Stadium

As a replacement for Brendan Rodgers, Leicester City could soon welcome Ralph Hasenhuttl to the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes are said to have added the Austrian to their shortlist after parting ways with the Northern Irishman following Saturday’s defeat to Crystal Palace, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Hasenhuttl has been unemployed since receiving his P45 in November at Southampton.

If the 55-year-old returns to management with Leicester, here’s how we believe his starting XI will look…

Hasenhuttl had some success with his preferred 4-2-2-2 formation at Southampton.

If he is hired by Leicester, we can expect him to bring that system to the Midlands, which would mean two strikers in the starting XI rather than the one we saw under Rodgers in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

As a result, we believe Vardy, who started against Aston Villa after coming off the bench against Crystal Palace, will be given a starting role alongside Harvey Barnes.

As you can see, we believe Hasenhuttl will select Vardy, Barnes, James Maddison, and Kelechi Iheanacho as his four attacking options, with Patson Daka and Tete dropping to the bench.

It would be a waste to put Maddison out on the right, given his ability to cut inside, and the

As a result, we believe Hasenhuttl will play Barnes in a left-sided centre-forward role just ahead of Maddison, while Iheanacho will play in a right-sided attacking midfield position, where he can cut inside on his stronger left foot.

Wilfried Ndidi and Kieran Dewsbury-Hall will form a holding midfield partnership.

At the back, Danny Ward may be given another chance to reclaim the No.1 shirt, and we believe Alar Söyüncü may also be given another chance to start.

Keep an eye on developments at Leicester City as the club looks to replace Rodgers
