Luis Enrique is eager to take over at Tottenham after Daniel Levy assured him that he would have greater influence over transfers.
According to 90Min, Spurs have informed new manager contenders that they will not have influence over transfers, but this does not appear to have put Enrique off the notion of becoming the new Spurs manager.
The ‘unbelievable’ former Barcelona manager is reportedly eager to return to the Premier League, and after seemingly passing up the opportunity to become the next manager of Chelsea, he’s willing to take a chance on Tottenham.
Of course, every manager would love the opportunity to design his own squad in his own image, but in the era of the Sporting Director, it is extremely rare.
Tottenham has had this problem for a long time. For a long time, Daniel Levy has personally led transfer tactics, while the recently departed Fabio Paratici was in charge for the past two years. They allegedly collaborated with their handlers the entire time.
