DEAL: fans prepare a huge welcome party as spur set to land £50m star player

TOTTENHAM are contemplating a £50 million bid for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, according to reports.

Since his arrival at Old Trafford, the attacker has failed to establish himself as a regular member of the first squad.

Man United had been hunting him for two years after he impressed at Borussia Dortmund as a teenager after leaving Manchester City.

According to the Daily Star, the North London club believes the Red Devils will be willing to allow the Englishman leave this summer.

However, the article claims that United will be trying to obtain closer to £60 million for the man they spent Dortmund £72 million for two years ago.

The Bundesliga club is also said to be interested in the winger, but only on loan.

Sancho has scored 12 goals and contributed six assists in 79 appearances since joining Manchester City.

If Spurs are unwilling to enhance their bid, Manchester United may be tempted to accept Sancho as part of a swap deal for Harry Kane.

Erik ten Hag is looking to bolster his striker options this summer, and Kane is a primary target.

Before they left for their holidays, the Dutch manager had heart-to-heart meetings with Sancho and the rest of the squad to explain where he sees them fitting in.

Ten Hag believes the club can fight for the Premier League title and win at least one big award next season.

Tottenham, on the other hand, are poised to begin rebuilding the team following a disastrous season in which they went trophyless and failed to qualify for any European tournament.

The club has finally replaced Antonio Conte as the team’s permanent manager with Ange Postecoglou and will need to back him up in the market.

Spurs have also been connected with relegated Leicester City’s James Maddison and Manchester United’s Harry Maguire.
