Newcastle United pushing hard to sign Brazilian super kid as club rejects £22m offer

Athletico Paranaense is said to have turned down a large offer for 17-year-old winger Vitor Roque. According to HITC, the young Brazilian has drawn interest from Arsenal and Newcastle United, among others, with agent Andre Cury telling Globo Esporte that they have turned down an offer because they believe Roque has a bright future in the game and is worth more than €25 million.

“We’ve already had offers, but they were declined,” Cury said. There was an English, a Spanish, and an Italian club.”

“We received a roughly 25 million euro offer” (for Roque). We immediately rejected it because I believe the player is worth more than that.

“The time (to leave) is when the right club arrives. One with a great project reaches the price tag, and everyone walks away satisfied from this negotiation.”

“He is truly sensitive in dribbling, in caressing the ball, in bringing those feints that are so difficult to defend against.

“Mo Salah is one of those guys who has this quality in tight spaces and finishing so precisely that he doesn’t feel the pressure. He appears to be a quiet young man with a bright future.”

Any move, 22, is unlikely to occur unless Newcastle secures Champions League qualification this season.
