BAD NEWS: Cleveland browns reveals neck injury update as CB clears concussion protocol

BALTIMORE — Browns cornerback Denzel Ward left Sunday’s game against the Ravens in the first quarter to be evaluated for a head injury. He cleared concussion protocol but was announced as questionable to return with a neck injury.

Clearing the concussion protocol is a sigh of relief for Ward, who has suffered four concussions in his NFL career, the most recent following the Browns’ preseason finale against Kansas City in August.

The injury appeared to happen when Ravens tackle Ronnie Stanley barrelled into Ward at the end of a play. It came shortly after Ward was flagged for illegal contact on a third-and-10 play with 6:07 remaining in the opening quarter. The Ravens took adavantage of the extended drive and extended their lead to 17-3 on a 37-yard field goal by Justin Tucker.
