Legend advised Newcastle Utd to sign £240,000 per week midfield star to pair Bruno Guimaraes

On talkSPORT, Darren Bent stated that Eddie Howe‘s Newcastle United should sign Mason Mount from Graham Potter‘s Chelsea during the summer transfer window.Mount, according to the former Tottenham Hotspur striker, would be ideal for Newcastle.

The talkSPORT pundit has highlighted the qualities of the 24-year-old England international midfielder that would suit Newcastle.

Newcastle are competing for Mount’s signature with Liverpool and Manchester United, according to The Daily Mail

According to the Daily Mail, Mount earns £80,000 per week in salary and is seeking £240,000 per week in wages.

Chelsea, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners, are said to be willing to pay the Englishman a weekly salary of £170,000.

“I’m surprised Newcastle aren’t heavily interested in him,” Bent said of Mount, as transcribed by GBB. He’d be ideal for them.

“He’s exactly what you’re looking for if you’re trying to get to the next level. He’s young, he’s English, he’s an international, he’s played in big games, won big trophies, and been named club player of the year.

“If you’re trying to build and attract players to your club, you don’t go out and buy someone who is 28/29 and possibly in the middle of whether ‘are they going to go on to the next level or are they going to start to fall away?'” He’s at his peak.”

Newcastle United, in our opinion, could sign Mason Mount from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window, but only if they finish in the top four this season.

Mount is accustomed to competing for the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.

With Liverpool and Manchester United also interested in the 24-year-old, we do not believe Newcastle would be particularly appealing to Mount if they do not compete in the UEFA Champions League next season.
