Aston Villa to decide on £22m midfield wizard as player set for January transfer move

Morgan Sanson is reportedly hoping to leave Aston Villa in the winter market, according to reports in France.

The midfielder didn’t get many minutes under Steven Gerrard, and things didn’t get much better until Unai Emery arrived at the club earlier this season. He came in as a substitute in Aston Villa’s league victory over Manchester City and started in their FA Cup loss to Stevenage.

According to L’Equipe, the former Marseille man’s objective is to return to Ligue 1, and his camp has made contact with a number of clubs, including FC Nantes.

Media Foot also expressed his wish to return to France this month and stated that he hopes to find a more competitive challenge in Ligue 1. The only team named is Nantes, and they are prioritizing signing him in the current window.

According to reports, Sanson ‘ticks all the boxes for the sort of midfielder the French club is searching for on the market. As a result, Nantes is ‘willing to go to any length’ to lure the midfielder away from Aston Villa in January.

According to Media Foot, Nantes wants to sign Sanson on a loan or permanent basis.
