DEAL: Alabama signee ‘itching’ to officially get on campus following A-Day visit

Noah Carter, a four-star EDGE in the 2024 class, was in Tuscaloosa over the weekend for the first time since January and caught up with Bama247 to recap the family trip

The February Signing Period does not typically bring the same theatrics compared to the Early Signing Period. Majority of a program’s commits sign their names on the dotted line in December.

It was a little bit of a different story for the Alabama football program in the 2024 cycle. Nick Saban did what he always does down the stretch and secured the No. 2 signing class in the country by the end of the Early Signing Period. A pair of flips (Bubba Hampton, Kevin Riley) gave the Crimson Tide a big boost.

About a month later, Saban retired. Roughly 48 hours after that, Kalen DeBoer was named the 18th head coach in program history. He immediately went to work on player retention, both on the current roster and with the slew of early enrollees already on campus. DeBoer also put some finishing touches of his own on the 2024 class.

He made a big splash by earning the recommitment of five-star receiver Ryan Williams and he honored the commitment of in-state linebacker QB Reese.

DeBoer also added a former Washington commit in the class. Four-star EDGE Noah Carter committed to the Crimson Tide a few days after an official visit in late January. The Peoria (AZ) prospect signed with Alabama in early February.

“When you’re on campus and near that facility, and you think about who has come through those same doors, all the NFL legends,” he explained the decision with 247Sports Blair Angulo at the time. “It’s definitely exciting and gets you thinking.”
