Barnsley have appointed former Cheltenham Town manager Darrell Clarke on a two-year deal.
The 47-year-old has two EFL promotions under his belt, with Bristol Rovers and Port Vale, having managed over 600 matches since 2010.
The Tykes sacked Scot Neill Collins ahead of the play-offs after finishing sixth, eventually losing to Bolton Wanderers in the play-offs.
Clarke, who took over at Cheltenham in late September, inherited a side sat rock-bottom of League One and without a goal in their first nine matches.
The Robins did go down to the fourth tier but took the fight to the final day after winning 12 of his 39 matches.
It had been reported that Clarke was in talks over a new deal at Whaddon Road, but the lure of Oakwell proved too strong.
“I’m absolutely delighted, can’t wait to get started,” Clarke told the club website. I’m proud to be managing this football club, I’m really looking forward to it. I didn’t need to be sold on the club, it’s got huge potential and I’m excited to get myself going and get the squad rebuilt and try to push on for a promotion challenge.”
