Fans disagree with club decision as star midfielder finally linked with surprise Leicester City summer exit

Latest Leicester City transfer news as a new destination emerges for Wilfred Ndidi ahead of the expiry of his contract

Galatasaray are reportedly ‘planning’ to sign Wilfred Ndidi at the end of the season when his contract at Leicester City expires.

The midfielder’s current deal at the King Power Stadium expires in June and there has been no clarity over his future with the club. Ndidi has made over 260 appearances for City since joining from KRC Genk in 2017.

City boss Enzo Maresca has insisted that discussions over the futures of out-of-contract players will take place once Leicester’s league status has been confirmed. The Foxes are currently top of the Championship table and are on course to make an instant return to the Premier League.

Ndidi was subject of summer interest from Bayern Munich and Nottingham Forest but he remained at Leicester to play a key part in Maresca’s side. This season, the Nigeria international has scored four and assisted six in a more advanced role.

Now, it is reported that Ndidi has attracted interest from Turkish giants Galatasaray. According to A Sport, Gala have reignited their interest in the 27-year-old and are ‘planning’ on taking advantage of Ndidi’s contract situation at Leicester.

The report from Turkey suggests that they want to bring Ndidi to Rams Park and use European football to convince him to join. Galatasaray are currently top of Super Lig with nine games remaining but hold a 29-point advantage in the Champions League spots.

Leicester’s promotion to the Premier League is likely to be the only way that Ndidi stays at the King Power Stadium. Even then, the Foxes’ financial struggles could limit their hopes of retaining the versatile midfielder.
