Leicester City set to hit £30m price drop as Tottenham maintain battle for deal

Tottenham can sign Leicester City star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for £30-40million this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that he will only leave if the Foxes are not promoted this season.

O’Rourke explained that Leicester will be desperate to keep the 25-year-old if they do return to the Premier League.

But he warned that a firesale is on the cards at the King Power Stadium due to the club’s financial problems.

Tottenham can sign 25-year-old in £30m deal this summer

Finance expert Kieran Maguire told Football Insider on Sunday (7 April) that the Foxes face a points deduction after breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules by £25-30million based on calculations from their 2022-23 accounts.

And O’Rourke believes that should a big offer come in for Dewsbury-Hall this summer, Leicester may have to consider it.

Enzo Maresca will view the midfielder as a key player should the club return to the Premier League, having fought hard to keep him in January.

O’Rourke told Football Insider that the Foxes fended off interest from Brighton and Brentford last time out amid impressive displays from the 25-year-old, with 12 goals and 14 assists registered this season.

He believes the Championship club were looking for £40million-plus in the January transfer window, but could look for £30-40million for his sale this summer.

O’Rourke added that the English ace will only get better with better players around him, with Dewsbury-Hall certain to improve their squad next season.

He has now warned Leicester manager Enzo Maresca that the vultures will be hovering around the midfielder, especially if promotion is not secured.

In other news, Tottenham plan to accept striker offer.
