Man Utd ‘ready to pay £51.3m’ for defender as Aston Vil ‘eye’ Leeds Utd star

The Premier League is back and not before an exciting starter of Championship action that saw three of the top four drop points. All eyes now turn to the Premier League’s leading three to see where the next twist in the title race will come, and which way it will go.

The most likely twist will arrive on Sunday, with Arsenal and Manchester City facing off in a potentially defining clash at the Etihad Stadium, while Liverpool will look to take care of business against Brighton on Saturday, and we can’t discount the relegation and European battles, which remain thrilling as we head into the final stretch. In the meantime, we round up some of the standout news from around the Premier League.

United ‘want’ Hernandez

Manchester United are said to be keen on landing an AC Milan star this summer, with Theo Hernandez reportedly coming back into view. Fichajes report that United expressed an interest in the defender last summer but ultimately decided against a move.

The report now claims the Red Devils are willing to pay as much as £51.3million to land the France international. United are desperate for a new left-back heading into this summer having seen Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia struggle with injury all season.

Summerville interest

Aston Villa are reportedly interest in one of the Championship’s standout players. Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville has been a sensation in the second tier this season, and he scored another brilliant goal on Friday night as the Whites drew with Watford.

According to Football Insider, Villa are ‘very keen’ on the Dutchman, though their chances of landing him will likely depend on whether Leeds’ promotion bid proves successful. Villa and Brighton were said to have been interested in January, but Leeds were not interested in selling. The question will be whether that will change this summer.
