Boston Celtic Fans celebrates as star player finally return to face Warriors

The Celtics have had only positive injury news ever since the All-Star break, but they do have a slight blip on the injury report ahead of the Warriors game Sunday. Kristaps Porzingis is listed as questionable with a left quad contusion. Two-way big Neemias Queta is also out with a right knee hyperextension.

The C’s have been plenty cautious with Porzingis throughout the season, playing 44 of a possible 59 games thus far. The injury-prone big man has held up, and with the Celtics owning a league-best 47-12 record, they have the luxury to sit the big man if needed. Notably, Porzingis also missed the first time the C’s and Warriors met back in December in San Francisco.

The Warriors come to Boston for a 3:30 p.m. Sunday game at TD Garden. While they’ve had a tough start to the season, they’ve gone 13-3 in their past 16 games. On the flip side, the C’s are red-hot as they’re on a 10-game winning streak of their own. Boston has won all four of its games since the break by double-digits as it continues to impress.

If Porzingis is unable to play, expect Al Horford to be inserted into the starting lineup as usual. Xavier Tillman could also get some extended minutes after getting his first real game action against the Mavs. But the C’s do have some insurance now with Tillman into the fold as part of the big man rotation.
