BREAKING NEWS: Nate Oats Announces Second Suspension of the Season for Nick Pringle

ATHENS, Ga. — Alabama basketball forward Nick Pringle did not make the trip with the team to Athens for the Crimson Tide’s 85-76 comeback victory over Georgia. Per the SEC Network broadcast of the game, Pringle was suspended for the contest due to “conduct detrimental to the team.” “He’s currently suspended. He’s got to decide whether he wants to be a part of this program or not, with some of his decisions, how he conducts himself.” Alabama head coach Nate Oats said. “Nothing bad off the court or anything like that, just in practice, in games, we’ll see where he goes when we get back.”

This is the second time this season Pringle has served a 1-game suspension, and for the same reason. Pringle was suspended for the Crimson Tide’s game against Arkansas State on Dec. 4, though before the game Oats said the suspension was “indefinite.” That suspension lasted for just one game. Pringle has had a variety of roles on Alabama’s team this season, both starting and coming off the bench for multiple stretches. On the season, Pringle averages 5.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game while shooting over 70 percent from the floor. Pringle has seen his minutes decrease each of the last four games, dwindling down to just eight minutes in Saturday’s win over LSU.

Pringle was one of two Crimson Tide players missing during Alabama’s win over Georgia, as redshirt freshman guard Davin Cosby Jr. also missed the trip due to the flu, as announced by the Crimson Tide Sports Network pregame show.
