Discussions ongoing as Eastern Conference Contender pushing hard for Paul George

With the Los Angeles Clippers apparently interested in Paul George, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him traded at some time during the NBA Draft.

Despite his recent injury history, George remains one of the league’s top players, and he should have no shortage of suitors.

With that in mind, Ian Begley of NBACentral says that the New York Knicks have already held preliminary negotiations with the Los Angeles Clippers about trade for George.

The Knicks have been on the lookout for a true superstar for quite some time, but have typically come up short.

And, considering George’s age and history of ailments, one could argue that now isn’t the greatest moment to trade for him.

The Knicks, on the other hand, may not have another chance to sign a player of his quality for a long time, and they have more than enough assets to do so.

George is not defective in any way.

When Kawhi Leonard suffered yet another injury a few seasons ago, he almost led the Clippers to the NBA Finals.

Due to a knee injury, he was unable to play at the end of last season, but he is expected to be totally recovered for the start of next season.

That’s probably why the Clippers know it’s time to trade him, since they’ll get a far higher return than they would for Kawhi, who is rarely healthy.

Trading for George entails some risk, but the potential reward is enormous.
