DONE DEAL: Detroit Lions sign former packers White Sox pitcher to three-year, $26 million contract.

Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions isn’t thrilled with his team’s 29-22 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving. To make matters worse, the former Pro Bowler was fined just two days later for a play that occurred two games ago. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Amon-Ra St. Brown was fined $34,709 for a block in his team’s Week 11 game against Chicago.

Not only running backs: the NFL penalized #Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown $43,709 for this block against Chicago last week.

St. Brown is working to the safety during a David Montgomery run, and the wideout makes contact with Bears safety Jaquan Brisker. Despite the fact that the USC product barely touches the third-level defender, the NFL and Roger Goodell took issue with him leading with the helmet. The league continues to sanction violators, particularly rushers. St. Brown, on the other hand, broke the trend by receiving a monetary penalty despite not carrying the football.

Roger Goodell and the NFL: Quick Trigger Finger on Fines This Season
In 2023, the NFL will continue to push down on players who lead with their helmets. The rule was implemented in 2013, amended in 2018, and changed again this offseason. According to Spotrac, the NFL has issued 32 fines.
