Fans in shock as Michael Jordan finally speaks on son’s relationship with ex-wife

Michael Jordan, the basketball legend, does not approve of his son Marcus’ connection with ex-Chicago Bulls teammate Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife, Larsa.

Jordan and Pippen won four NBA championships together between 1987 and 1998, but there’s no love lost between the two, with the latter criticizing Jordan in recent years for his portrayal in the Netflix-ESPN documentary The Last Dance. Pippen also slammed Jordan in his 2021 memoir, Unguarded, sinking the ex-Bulls teammates’ friendship even more.

Despite their disagreements, Jordan and Pippen appear to agree on one point: neither approves of Marcus’ relationship with Scottie’s now ex-wife Larsa. Pippen was married to Larsa from 1997 to 2021, but in a surprise twist, the Real Housewives of Miami star is now dating MJ’s son, Marcus.

Larsa and Marcus met four years ago in Los Angeles when they were introduced by a mutual acquaintance. Marcus and Larsa, both 32, went public in January of this year.

In a video acquired by TMZ, Jordan laughed as he got into an SUV with his wife of ten years, Yvette Prieto, after leaving dinner at Matignon in Paris on Sunday, before concluding, “No!”

Jordan’s direct statement contradicts Larsa, who previously stated that she had spent time with Jordan and his ex-wife, Marcus’ mother Juanita Vanoy, and that they were in a “great place.”

“I don’t really want to talk about them,” Larsa remarked in March on The Tamron Hall Show. “I’m not sure I want to talk about them. It doesn’t seem to be about my or his parents. They’re all content. Our entire family is healthy. I think it’s more about where I am and where [Marcus] is. I believe we are in a good spot. We inspire one another. We’re having a great time together. And I believe that is the most significant aspect.”

Larsa added, when asked if she had Jordan and Juanita’s approval, “Yeah, I feel like we’re great.” I have the impression that we have spent holidays together, which is a nice thing. We’re in a wonderful spot.”

The Hornets have struggled under Jordan’s ownership, missing the playoffs 11 times since his acquisition of the team. Jordan, on the other hand, is projected to remain a modest shareholder.

Charlotte finished second-to-last in the Eastern Conference with a 27-55 record. Despite a dismal season, their lottery odds for the 2023 NBA Draft improved, as they were awarded the second overall pick.

The Hornets used that pick to sign Brandon Miller from the University of Alabama, with the expectation that the 20-year-old can improve the team’s long-term future.
