Former Boston Celtics star sick for a revenge match after team disengagement

Danilo Gallinari, a veteran NBA forward, was unable to play in any games during his brief stint with the Boston Celtics. He is, however, determined to show them that they made a mistake in trading him away.

He was unable to play a single game after signing a two-year contract with the Celtics due to a torn ACL. On August 27, he was injured during a FIBA World Cup qualification game against Italy.

After a season of rehabilitation, Gallinari was traded to the Washington Wizards in June as part of a three-team transaction. The Celtics acquired Kristaps Porzingis from the Wizards and traded long-time fan favorite Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies in the blockbuster deal.

“I can’t wait to play against Boston. When the schedule will be unveiled, I’ll put an X on the games we will play at Boston against the Celtics.”

Gallinari went on to clarify that he is still working on his knee rehabilitation. He does, however, intend to be ready when training camp begins this autumn.

“I’m excited, and I’m ready to get started on the new season,” Gallinari said. “Right now, I’m still in rehab, so I’m not ready to play a basketball game right now, but the goal is to be 100% ready for training camp.”
