The Latest on Celtics’ Health Front for Friday’s Game vs. Nets

The Celtics host the Nets Friday night in Boston’s first game of the NBA’s inaugural in-season tournament.

The Boston Celtics got off to a scorching hot start to begin the 2023-24 campaign, including a 155-104 dismantling of the Indiana Pacers, their third-largest margin of victory since 2000, and a game where they generated the second-most points in franchise history.

But they’ve since cooled off, suffering two straight losses. First, it was a 114-109 defeat in an overtime tilt with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Wednesday, they fell 106-103 to the Philadelphia 76ers, who knocked Boston off its perch atop the Eastern Conference standings.

Now, after playing two straight on the road, the Celtics, tied with the Milwaukee Bucks for second in the East at this early juncture, return home to host the Brooklyn Nets. The game also represents Boston’s first of the NBA’s inaugural in-season tournament.
